And then you just kind of like look back and say, wow, this is- That body of work reflects.
I captured a moment.
It was a little bit, and I'm not trying to dodge it.
I just felt like it was a little bit of both.
I felt like I captured a moment because I made this album in a way I never had before, which is that I made it on the road.
I've always like, when I'm home, go over to somebody's studio at their house or they'll come over to my house and we'll write, you know, but-
I did everything on the tour bus or in green rooms.
And so when I'm on the road, I'm in like music mode.
Like at home, I'm in fam time.
And then like I get on that bus and like the flip switches and it's like music, music, music, music, music, right?
And so,
It was awesome because during the day, I'm like, I'm there, I'm at the venue.
I'm like, let's do this because I'm hanging out anyway.
I'm just waiting for the, it's basically a bunch of hurry up and wait.
We sound check and then we're just kind of like, oh, let's go, let's go.
So to be able to write in that environment was really exciting for me.
And I wrote the whole album in two months.
And so it was this hyper concentrated, like capturing a moment in time while at the same time, I had a very clear concept before the first song that I wanted to make this an origin story album about all the things that have kind of like made me who I am, the roots of who I am, you know?
So like,
Who I love, you know, songs like Rich Man, How I Live, you know, Lakeside Summer, things like that.
