And people have always been distracted.

So I wanted to understand, is it just the phones?

Is that really what we should blame?

Or is that just the proximal cause?

What's the root cause of the problem?

And the root cause of the problem is not our phones.

This and another personal problem.

So with Indistractable, I started doing these office hours where anybody can call me, ask me a question about anything they want to talk to me about.

So 15 minutes, I do it every Wednesday night, one hour a week.

And I started getting some strange phone calls, Jeremy.

Like these weird phone calls where people would call me and sometimes they would have to wait for months because there was a bit of a backlog.

And they would call it every like maybe one out of 20 calls.

Somebody would call me and say, Hey, I read your book.

I really liked it.

But it didn't work for me.

And I'd say, oh, what tell me more?

I've spent five years writing this book, 30 pages citations to peer-reviewed studies.
