And no one laughed.

We were like, yeah, you probably will.

And we didn't realise there actually was a future prime minister sitting right next to him.

I was kind of rebellious.

I kind of got put in a grammar school and didn't really want to be there and didn't really want to play their game.

And then as soon as Punk Rock came about, it's like, oh, this is what I've been waiting for.

This sound of rebellion, how to annoy your parents, how to break, smash the system, break the status quo.

And, you know, it had everything for me.

So, yeah, I was sort of kind of half rebel, rebel with a few jokes and,

Yeah, yeah.

It happened by mistake.

I had all the records.

Before streaming, somebody had to physically have records at the party to have the cool music.

And so I had this box of seven-inch singles and people used to invite me for my records.

But also, I used to do weddings and stuff, so I had to play top 40 hits when I did weddings.

In those days, it was a hobby rather than a career.

DJs weren't...

treated well or paid well, and it was just something you did to fund your vinyl habit for a bit of pocket money.

Yeah, I mean, I was just obsessed with pop music.

I wanted to buy it, I wanted to play it, I wanted to talk about it.
