More training in hospitals for GPs rather than in general practice?
Gary Freed is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Michigan, a major issue.
One of these chronic illnesses in children is type one or insulin dependent diabetes, which requires regular insulin injections.
Researchers around the world are trying to develop what's called the artificial pancreas to automate the control of blood sugar in these children, and one of the leaders is doctor Roman Hovorka at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Metabolic Science in the UK.
Now, don't we do fairly well at the moment?
We've got insulin pumps which slowly pump in insulin in a very delicate way.
And too low also some people are suggesting that's a risk factor
So tell me about this closed loop system that you've been developing.

You've also been looking at people in intensive care.
What's the issue here?
Because it's very controversial over the years.
People have suggested that you should be giving insulin to people in intensive care, and some people say that's going to kill them.
I mean i is it's a it's a battleground
people do get high blood sugars when they're critically ill.
