And it is how like it is how they justif justify spending the money on climate action.

But I agree, I agree with this.

If the government wants to say we're not going to raise the carbon tax and we're going to fund the climate action that we desperately need and the nature restoration we desperately need for climate change as well, to absorb all that rain, uh um

I don't mind if they if they do it by uh income, if they use income tax, if they use VAT, if they use corporation tax.

Or we did polling recently in the Irish Environmental Network, and the most popular thing the government could do is a windfall tax on the on the pro excess profits that fossil fuel companies, their big oil companies are making at a European level or an Irish level.

And everyone everyone supported that.

Like there's you know, some parties supporters are less keen on agr on environmental uh measures, say independent Ireland.

Independent Ireland voters love the idea of taxing fossil fuel companies more.

So if they want to get the money for carbon for climate action somewhere else, that's fine.

But they have to make it clear how.

climate action measures because this is the other thing.

It gets it gets I do I do I would worry that those who are against net zero and against uh uh climate action, if the government uh doesn't increase carbon tax, they'll claim it as a great victory.

We've defeated climate action.

So if the government w is thinking of that, it has to be very clear what its climate action actually is and how small a part of that the climate the carbon tax is.

But the government is over a year late or is a year late with the climate action plan.

For this year, it was due out by December last year.

They haven't got a climate action plan.

So, you know, they lose credibility if they haven't got a plan of their own and they're saying the one thing everybody knows they do, well, okay, they they know people know about retrofitting and EV grants.

But one of the few things people know about the carbon tax, if they're if they're stalling that.
