Just love of their work, you find value.
That's why you're in some profession and you find enjoyment, you find value.
So that's essentially a fuel for you to keep going.
So you also want to invest yourselves into those situations, but in a lot of social situations, there are things that can put you down to serve the downstream consequences.
Like when your manager have to give you one of the additional work that they have to give,
you become the culprit to be the victim of it.
So what I'm claiming is that it's not necessarily an intentional process that managers go through.
These intrinsically motivated employees are very valuable for the organization.
They are engaged.
They invest a lot of their selves into work.
And research have shown time after time that they are good performers.
They are deemed to be creative.
So they're very valuable resources and managers know that too.
It's just that when managers come in a pinch, they need to give the work to one of the employees that they have.
They go to the social cues that they're familiar with, which is their most engaged employees.
Yeah, there could be a lot of assumptions that managers make.
The two assumptions that we test in my research is the one, because you see that these employees enjoy working on one type of task, they might enjoy this additional work that I'm about to give to this employee.
