He just had this sort of capacity to irritate the left and the right, despite his sort of very firm status as a person of the left.
He wasn't a joiner, basically.
He had this visionary quality.
And in these last years, he was making these sort of repeated warnings, which were about the return of fascism.
He said, fascism is coming back, but it's not gonna come back
with people in Nazi uniforms.
It's not going to be Jack Boots and 1944 all over again.
It will be a new fascism.
