Everybody wants to get the main job.
And I think when they get another job like assistant referee, they're probably perfectly happy, to be honest.
I think this will have to be explained to them.
There'll have to be some education.
And again, I don't know if there are enough of them.
I mean, it's an absolute shame right now that if you go down through the international referee list, you don't have that many who you would wish to put into a quarterfinal.
And I hate saying in my day, but if you go back to the 91 or 95 World Cup, when it was amateur, I mean, you had about six refs you could put into the quarterfinals.
You know, about four or five of those could have done a semi.
And you have two or three who have done the final.
And now it's tighter than that.
You know, they have to be full time.
A lot of people, refs, referees do not want to be full time.
So they don't take it up or they just say, look, I'm going to referee club rugby just because I enjoy it.
Or to use that phrase, I'm going to give back something to the game that they enjoyed.
They want their absolute jobs.
And it's the same long question.
What do you do when you're 45 and they turn around and say, that's it?
Hopefully you've got something lined up.
Hopefully you've been educating yourself.
But at the age of 45, you should be at the top of your managerial or position in a job.
