do what comes naturally to you at that point in time and so um all the masters of persuasion that i've encountered in my professional life um they would say the same thing like i i don't know that i ever had an explicit conversation of like did you study persuasion but i can tell you like they they didn't understand what they were doing when they did it like they didn't they i had to explain it to them sometimes i'm like this is what you did and this is why it worked
But they had no idea.
They just were being themselves, doing the thing.
And so I think that's an interesting thing about when you master a skill.
It's like you don't really think about it and you don't necessarily remember how or why you learned it.
i i mean i think again it's just i i really appreciate all the things scott did over the years like this that he would break that stuff down in a way that you wouldn't get from anybody else like that this is one of the examples like i mean some of the other stuff that he's taught us like you know we're having these discussions right now about how to win friends and influence people some of his micro lessons clearly came directly from there but like this one i don't know where he got all that knowledge like it it seems like he did have this
really, um, advanced, uh, advanced knowledge of persuasion that I don't know that anyone else could have given us.
Like I've never heard any of this stuff broken down this way other than from Scott.
And so I just really appreciate that what he gave us there.
Um,
Because it is something that hardly anybody talks about.
Like one of the first books we did for my subscribers was 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene.
And that was the first time that I've been like, oh, my God, like all this stuff that I had been picking up at work from all these really masterful persuasion people.
like nobody ever talks about it.
They don't, they don't, we don't, you don't discuss these things because some of it is because some of it can be at least unethical.
It doesn't have to be in my opinion, but like, it's kind of, you know, you don't really talk about it cause it's not really polite to do that.
And, um, but it was like the first time I'm like, wow, I've seen all these things.
I've seen all these games being played.
I've seen all these techniques being used, but nobody ever taught it to me.
Nobody ever said, here's what's going on.
