So first of all, I'm really sorry to hear you're not well, but I am glad to hear that the salary protection, some people call it income protection or permanent health insurance.
For people who aren't familiar what it is, basically what it means is if the insurance company's doctor says that you're not able to work, they'll pay you up to 75% of your wage until you're fit to go back to work or you hit normal retirement age.
In your case, normal retirement age seems to have been set at 60.
That's when the policy is finishing.
So you'll be on your wage.
It's not always 75%.
Sometimes it's 66% and it depends on what the policy itself, the terms and conditions are.
So it's going to stop at 60%.
Interestingly enough, that income is taxed and we have had circumstances and you wouldn't put money into a PRSA or any type of pension.
It wouldn't be a good idea to put money into a pension.
if you're not paying tax, because the whole idea of a pension is just a savings policy with good tax benefits to it.
