And if you're not paying tax, you can't get the tax benefits, so there's no point in doing it.

So therefore, you should be able to put pension in against it.
I do think it's worth getting specific advice on that to see what is the best way.
If this is really worrying you, like obviously, hopefully you'll have a state pension kicking in later on, but you've got that gap from 60 to 66.
And what I would say is, I would try and get some specific advice around what the best use of your money is in order to try and figure it out.
Because there may be other options in terms of, do you just save the money?
Do you do something else?
The first port of call, particularly when you're two and a half years away from the 60 years of age coming around, the first port of call is usually pension.
Because if you can get tax relief on your savings, you take the tax relief on the savings.
The only thing that kind of dissuades people is if you're 22 and a half and you're going, oh, I'm going to get tax relief on it, but I'm not going to see it until I'm 60.
But when it's only two and a half years away, it becomes even more attractive to get the tax relief.
So I would suggest you probably, like I'd be fairly sure you can, but you'd need to see the specifics of how your income protection is set up and everything else.
I found them very helpful.
It's why I do what I do.
My dad went out at 50 years of age on income protection, nothing to do with income protection.
He had nothing to do with financial services, but he had a bad heart and stopped working at 50 years of age.
