My question to you would be, how do you decide when to sell?
And how much do you sell?
At what prices do you sell?
And then will you have the nerve to get back in once it's fallen or if it falls?
Or will you think, oh no, it's still scary then, and then you miss an opportunity altogether.
So what I find is that people who make these decisions are often then tentative to invest back into the market after it has fallen.
So we think, you know what, I'll just wait for the crash.
And then it gets to the crash and like, oh, geez, this is really scary.
I'm going to wait a little bit longer.
And then they never get back in.
So the second option you have is sell everything.
Now, you could say bugger off shares, bugger off Owen.
I'm going to go back to my property and my term deposits and I'm going to earn less than 1% and then tax and then inflation.
Oh, geez.
So that's kind of the option, right?
Yes, you could feel good in the short term, but it's probably only a short term fix.
It's kind of like a Band-Aid for your investments.
So I've talked about this many times.
I've talked about market crashes.
I've talked about the power of long-term investing.
