Today we want to do a really sort of brief overview on investing in shares and the Australian share market and what it is, how it works and how you can potentially use it in your investing journey.

Yes, I think this is your bread and butter, Owen.

Yeah, so often you'll hear about it as the ASX, so the Australian Stock Exchange.

It's essentially a big supermarket to buy these companies in Australia.

So companies are able to list on the Australian Stock Exchange and it means that individual Aussies like you and me can buy $500 parcels of ASX

any company that's on the exchange.

So there's exchanges all over the world.

In America, there's multiple exchanges all competing for your business and some have different purposes.

But it's essentially a way that you can buy into companies that you believe in in Australia.

Yeah, so different companies can, like Chinese companies can list in Australia and vice versa, but usually companies are listed in the same country that they're operating in, but not always.
