So it always pays to be careful.
Yeah, and you can just set up a brokerage account and buy those shares.
Yeah, so most financial institutions offer brokerage accounts.
It's essentially the way you can buy a piece of Australian company that's listed on the ASX.
And there's quite a few in Australia, so it's good to compare them for price.
And I think we've mentioned that in an early episode, but I'll link to some comparison sites for brokerage accounts in the show notes.
But it's essentially that middleman that facilitates the purchase of shares in an Australian company.
So they do all the paperwork for you, all digitally nowadays, but they will find a buyer or find a seller for what you want to buy or sell.

So the pictures you see in the newspapers are not what happens in Australia.
It's all really digital nowadays.
Yeah, so the share market is just a marketplace.
So you, for whatever reason, think that BHP is worth X amount and you're willing to pay someone else that amount to buy it.
And then the other person on the other side, the seller, has to think the sale's worth what you're willing to pay.
And then if you're both on the same page, your order gets matched up.
Yeah.
So it's usually good going with a larger broker.
