It is but the technology has moved on in terms of EV batteries so you know when they came out first you were really barely able to get about 200 kilometers from a full charge but that's changed and most people should charge at home about 80 percent of charging should take place at home regionally you shouldn't have the issues that we have in Dublin of people not being able to put charging points into their homes lots of people who live in apartments still struggle with that so

So if you are in a rural area, and especially if you're able to put solar panels on your roof for a benefit from that, you can be in really cheap motoring in an EV.

No, never.

Never?

I've driven about 30 years and I've never been rat tested.

And my life is driving cars and I haven't once.

So yeah, I mean, look, it's a survey of one, but I think it's an experience that many people would say they haven't been tested.

Yeah, it is.

And look, there's RSA stats that back that up in terms of attitude.

You know, one in four people think that there's no issue in driving a short distance if you've had alcohol, which is sort of beggar's belief because of, you know, a huge amount of accidents occur within a short distance from home.

So it is a worrying stat.

Yeah, it is.

And look, it is a huge factor in terms of behaviour.

If you don't feel that you're going to be tested or potentially caught, then that's where the risk comes in.

And human nature being what it is, people see the risk as not a huge one.

No, it's not.

And, you know, certainly Alcohol Action Ireland are calling for targets.

And if you look at the likes of Australia, they would have a target that each licensed driver would be tested once per year.

And we are nowhere near that.

They're stating that there's a 1 in 3% chance of being caught drink driving.
