But I just want to start by asking you guys, do you remember

I was working, obviously, but I had a phone call from, we had a phone call at our house from a producer, a television producer, and it was just after the first flight had hit.

And I'll never forget the words, the world is ending.

Yeah.

I thought, what the hell?

Well, my wife at the time was a producer for The Breakfast Show on TVNZ and we had a one and a half year old boy.

So she went off and I just, I sat there with Ben in my arms and we just watched and I just, you know, I was in tears.

I just couldn't believe this was happening.

And then

All the other stories of the other crashes as well started coming through.

I got in the afternoon, I think, when Paula got home.

And then from the next three or four days, it was pretty much 24-hour coverage.

Yeah.

and uh it's a lot to take into you know like it really is but it just it did feel like a you know something that was going to change the world and it did um so nearly 3 000 people died on that day in 9 11. uh there were two kiwis uh one of them um alan bevan was on that flight united 93 which crashed in pennsylvania

And it's an incredible story.

I think it was like 43 or something like that.

But he was one of the passengers who stormed the cockpit to bring the plane down early because it crashed in basically farmland.
