Companies do not want 50 plus different laws on AI.

They want one federal safety law around AI.

That has not happened.

Congress has not acted on that.

The White House has released these frameworks.

But their main goal is to say states can't legislate on AI.

California has tried to.

Newsom has pushed back on some of that.

And so this executive order could be a way for Newsom to say, like, I'm trying to meet somewhere in the middle and also keep Trump out of our business.

There is a Commodities Future Trading Commission rule, which is what Calshi is regulated by, that says that you can't have these contracts that involve or reference assassination, war, terrorism, similar actions.
