Well, I think Chairman George McCaskey and CEO Kevin Warren are probably asking that question, too, because this is not what they had hoped would happen out of this weekend.

By the way, it wasn't lost on lawmakers that neither of those two were in the state capitol in Springfield this weekend.

And, you know, Jerry Reinsdorf has made a habit of going down there and befriending his legislators.

So it was it was a different approach by the Bears.

But, you know, my takeaway right now is it's more wait and see for the bears.

And we're going on three years now.

Right.

And do the bears really want to now wait and see what the House is going to do?

And then because it passed past midnight, this legislation cannot go into effect until July of twenty twenty seven.

So are they willing to start their project and wait a year and now negotiate this new stadium authority with either Arlington Heights or potentially, although I think it's unlikely, the city of Chicago when they have that deal in Hammond ready to go, basically.

So, I mean, and the question now is what's next for the Bears?

Was this a bluff?

And we're going to find that out over the next few days.

If they choose not to go to Hammond,

And and they still they're still wishy washy on what their priority is.

Then I think they lose a lot of their leverage here in Illinois.

And some of these Chicago lawmakers that banked on Indiana being a bluff will be proven right.

Yeah, I mean, I think that it was kind of stunning when Senator Cunningham emerged at 10.30 on, what was that, Saturday night, saying we just don't have the votes.
