So it's either nothing goes on that land or, you know, you let the bears cut this deal and you'll get, you know, you'll get tens of millions of dollars in revenue.
It's going to be a fraction of what you would have gotten otherwise.
But.
It's in line with what other NFL stadiums pay in property taxes because most of them don't own their stadiums.
They're mostly publicly owned stadiums, so many of them pay nothing in property taxes.
So there's fair arguments on both sides.
The Bears say they need it.
Residents say and lawmakers say, why do you need this?
What are we doing here giving breaks when homeowners can't afford electricity and gas right now?
And that's the conundrum of the Bears.
But it's up to the Bears to wade through the politics of this, and they haven't done it.
You would have to think there is.
Think of all the deadlines, the red lines, so to speak, in the sand that have come and gone, where Warren said shovels would be in the ground.
Well, we'll deal with it in the veto session.
