But I thought, my goodness, there are a lot of people here.
And I said, how many do you think are here?
He said, well, we had the Rolling Stones here a couple of years ago, and they had 800,000.

So, okay, more than 800,000.
All right, here we go.
But I thought before I wanted to introduce the players, and obviously that was going to be the focal point of the entire ceremony, but there were four people that I had to acknowledge before we introduced anybody else.
Two of them were broadcasters.
Two of them were ballplayers.
The ballplayers I mentioned, Ron Santo and Ernie Banks.
and how much they would have loved to have been there for that moment.
I thought that was appropriate.
And the two broadcasters, since that's what I do, I felt an affinity to both Jack Brickhouse and Harry Carey.
So I acknowledged them.
The audience reacted favorably and gave all four of them a nice little round of applause.
But then I got into the program.
But I felt like that was necessary.
It's something that I wanted to do, and I'm very happy that I did it.
Well, for one thing, it's amazing how fast the 10 years have gone.
I always joke during the All-Star break, I say the All-Star break, those are the four fastest days on the calendar every single year because you're ready to go back to work and you feel like, man, I just got home from Cincinnati last weekend.
