So we'll just say if Robert Downey or Niall O'Leary was on 2 or 5 at that wing, I think Kyle Hayes will probably be allowed to push up more then because the ball is on that wing.
And I think...
Burns at the far side will stay you know because they always like to have a certain amount back in terms of whether if it's a rule of five if it's five defenders back at all times you never want to be left with just four defenders you know and I think it's the same at the upside if the ball is down Sean I don't know who's wing if they're working the ball out short and Barry Walsh is dropping you'll see Burns drop a bit more I think what happened that day even is the two lads were so on top when the ball was in their own half
you know I thought they were well on top of Fitzgibbon and Walsh every time the puck outs came down every time the ball was there but then of course like Walsh and Fitzgibbon what good players do is when you're not winning the ball you're not getting the ball come out the field and get on it in and that's what they've done so yeah I've no doubt John that they'll be showing clips of that because I remember Fitzgibbon got two scores when he decided to come out the field and they'll look at where they conceded scores and say lads there's going to have to be times where we push up here
Yeah and I think it's a great it's a great characterisation of those group of players that you can play your best hurling in a final when all eyes are on you when it's the biggest day to do it you know because a lot of players let's be real a lot of players struggle you know what I mean it's not an easy thing to do there's been some great players throughout the country
still playing now and gone who haven't you know who just have been fantastic players and when they get to a final they just haven't been able to perform but these Limerick players you know they just seem to they seem to get even better when there's more more at stake so as a Limerick supporter going down all Limerick supporters it's a great it's a great position to be in that you don't
you're not nervous in terms of like, I don't think these fellas won't turn up and perform.
You know, no matter what happens, you're like, one thing about this Limerick team over the last seven or eight years, even when we are beat, it's incredibly hard to beat them.
And it's usually, if they are beat, it's usually only by one score.
You know, even like Dublin last year, what did Dublin finish up in the wind-up last year?
Was it two points?
Yeah, you know, so there you go.
And even the Munster final last year was a penalty, you know, and a penalty shootout.
So that's a great thing.
Whereas, you know, Cork, on the other hand, you know, there can be, now in fairness, they have the fact that they beat Limerick last year in the Munster final, but of course, they've lost more finals than Limerick have lost.
Now, in fairness, their current Munster champions and even the two counties, including this one, the last 10 Munster finals have been shared between Limerick and Corklets.
Do you know?
So, because Cork had 17 and 18 and Limerick had six in a row and then Cork again.
And this one, Asher.
So, those two counties will have hoovered up the last 10 Munsters.
