I remember doing a show in St.
Paul and they just looked at us.
We were mental.
And yet we stayed there for a month and slowed down and had great crack.
But we wanted to bring that Irishness to the stage and not try and water it down.
So we didn't water it down.
We kept it up.
And I love that's what Blind Boy and what this production is doing.
I think that's wonderful.
I think it's a really exciting part of doing this play as well.
You know, there's an awful lot of sometimes kind of notions about theatre that, you know, once you sit down, and we've all felt it, you know, you sit down in the theatre and you go, oh, jeez, I should have gone to the loo before I sat down.
I didn't realise it was a two-hour first act.
And there's no interval.
And if I get up, can I come back?
You know, and I suppose Blind Boy, you know, coming from his own situation, acknowledges that and says, you know, he wants this play.
And the Abbey play to them are embracing this whole thing that, you know, people shouldn't feel if they're, because everybody has different, especially if there's autism, they might have to get up and move about and they may not be able to sit there for the full duration.
And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
Go out if you have to and come back in and enjoy the show.
And I remember doing shows in New York and we did shows for blind people, theatre shows.
And how we do it there, which was fantastic the way they did it as well, was the audience would come in and meet the cast before the show and they'd come up and they'd feel our costumes and our props and certain things we mentioned.
