So the game came up, going to that game, and I was like, no, we can't do that.

It'll be a month before we know and we'll be piss heads over here in New Zealand and we'll have to go back there.

And so I was able to rein myself in some bit.

Like I say all this, it's like I wasn't like getting up and just going to work.

I was still like, I'd go home, drink three bottles of wine, I'd still get up in the morning, go to the gym.

And I pushed myself to the absolute limits training-wise and stuff like that.

So I was still like trying to, I suppose, burn the candle from both ends.

So it was the same over there.

I got over there doing that, went down, got the job interview, and then gradually things were actually improving.

I was going to the gym and stuff like that.

Still didn't take away from the fact that I was smoking dope all the time.

I was still drinking most nights, just like a bottle of cider to just sleep, I think, more than anything.

Right.

And then I was working for that plumbing company for nearly three years and it went great with them, you know.

I was just working on the rebuild of the city because it was just after the earthquakes right over there.

That's why I went over there because I knew there was work.

Right.

And then I suppose I'd been, as we all do, on dating apps and all that kind of crack and meeting people and stuff like that.

And there was nothing really serious happening.

And then I met a girl on it and started getting quite serious.
