It's, I would guess I would call it innovator friendly where, you know, here in America, I think that we have a very entrepreneurial spirit and, you know, we are entrepreneurs.
I'm very much in favor of that.
But also sometimes you can get a little out over your skis and if there's not enough regulatory sort of hold back of like, wait, are we sure that that's safe?
you end up with basically too much leeway.
I mean, I think that the tension between innovation and regulation should be there, it should exist for the safety of all Americans and people.
Well, hold on.
Monsanto is the creator of glyphosate, most commonly known as Roundup.
Monsanto was acquired by Bayer.
the makers of aspirin, however many years ago.
And so glyphosate has been increasingly used on crops in America, starting really in the 1990s.
And it was this very sort of novel pesticide because it didn't kill plants.
The crop.
It didn't kill the plant.
It uses this specific pathway that is quote unquote safe for humans.
So it's not dangerous for humans.
Well, what they didn't kind of take into account is that our microbiome, those bugs have, I believe it's called the...
we would have to fact check me on that, but it's like the Shimake pathway that our gut bacteria does have.
So humans don't have it, but our gut bacteria does.
So glyphosate can wreak havoc on the gut microbiome.
And once you wreak havoc on that, well, that's your ability for your immune system, your digestion, and really, you know, you are what you eat.
