for-profit online educators, not necessarily universities, just ones you'd find commercials for while you're watching TV, not the elite business schools, the Harvard, the Ivy Leagues of the world.
But that's really started to change in the last couple of years, especially last summer when Boston University, which is a very well-regarded school, announced their online MBA at $24,000.
Illinois, a Big Ten school, went $22,000 online MBA.
And it's really just accelerated since then.
And these schools are definitely seeing more and more students take interest in it, especially when an economic downturn, everybody's online.
They want a cheap, flexible option that's not as rigid as the two-year full-time.
We're seeing Howard University, probably the best-known historically black college, and Wake Forest University.
John Carroll, which is a Jesuit school in Ohio, are some of the names.
And those are pretty well-regarded schools, especially Howard.
I mean, that's widely considered a top institution, especially their business school is very good.
And Wake Forest as well.
That's a big deal for a lot of those kinds of schools that they're not quite Ivy League, but they're nothing to shun either.
These are good schools that are adapting online MBAs.
And certainly a lot of the experts I talked to said more are going to follow.
Wouldn't be surprised if there are more big names that follow, especially at state schools.
Well, from the student perspective, I mean, it's much more flexible, right?
