One thing that I feel most Americans don't know about is there is a regulation called EU 261.
And essentially what it does, it protects passengers on flights that are delayed more than three hours, canceled, or they're overbooked.
And it's not a voucher.
It pays cash up to 600 euros, plus like refunds and this thing that they call right to care, which is like, you know, meals, drinks, hotels, things like this.
Your compensation is based on distance.
And so if your flight is under 1500 kilometers, which is around 900 miles,
They'll give you 250 euros.
It goes up to 600 if it's over 3,500 kilometers, which is around 2,100 miles.
There are some stipulations depending upon if you can get this.
So it covers any flight departing the EU on any airline, which includes US carriers.
So for example, if a flight was on United from Paris, that's covered.
It also covers flights in the EU on EU-based airlines.
So a delay from like Air France that's going in the EU from Paris to Munich, whatever.
The thing is, what's cool about it is that the window from which you can claim this cashback, this protection, can be up to six years in some countries.
Two to three is typical, but it can go up to six years.
And so if you are out there and you flew...
on an EU carrier, whether you were in Europe and you flew back to the US or wherever, or you flew within the EU on an EU carrier, and you were delayed over three hours.
And you're like, man, that was a bummer.
And that really disrupted my travels.
