There was so much compassion and understanding towards these players.

We had Luke Bateman from the Raiders who I think at the end of last year admitted that he'd lost something in the vicinity of $500,000 during his playing days to the point where he was on like a $400,000 contract and his mother had to pay for his mortgage.

You know, and he said in his interview when he spoke about this publicly that he reckons about half of his teammates had some sort of gambling problem.
