Paul Kent 0:01
G'day and welcome to Kenny Prime Time. We're back, uh finals week and uh obviously very excited for the next couple of nights. Kenty, welcome. Thanks, but yeah, very excited myself. You look excited, Cross. Hey mate, how are you? Yeah, good, good to have you. So, boys, we're gonna talk about uh a lot of things today. We're gonna start with the Fareworld Like Hut tomorrow, Kenny. I know it's a place close to your heart. Well, I'll be able to open the windows tomorrow and just listen to the concert. They've got a concert there tomorrow called Farewell to Licart. Uh as we know, Licart Oval, as it currently stands, is going to be torn down. Uh a new grandstand will be built, the ground will be upgraded, the government's spending
Paul Kent 0:39
forty million dollars on it. I don't think that'll be how much did they spend on aliens? Yeah, eight hundred and eighty million. Yeah. So anyway, but a new ground stand at the uh at the northern end of the ground and uh obviously an upgrade in facilities and different things like that. Uh so to a couple of things come out of tomorrow. Firstly, uh they have a concert, it's the Farewell to Leikar concert, it's gonna be headed by the Angels, right? So that'll be pretty cool. Very good. Uh earlier in the day will be uh Wayne Pierce and the Oz icons playing. I once saw him in a pub. Ah, fuck it. Women throw the undies at him when he's on stage. All right. And he's dead set like Led Zeppelin up there. Uh but anyway.
Paul Kent 1:25
If we had a live show, do you think they'd throw undies at you? No. Just the big the big wife runs with skinny. Uh but anyway, yeah, so uh Junior's playing tomorrow from I think one fifteen till two. Angels come on about six o'clock or something like that. What about Spud? Did he get a start? No, Spud Spud petitioned Looks it's actually it's it's a very delicate subject this butt. Okay, so he missed he missed the he missed the cut. Oh really? He missed the cut. I don't know why, but he missed the cut. Just quickly give us your uh your Spud Dublin Dublin story. Spud in Dublin. Spud in Dublin, every pub we went into. Mate, can I play to the guitar player? Well what happened before then? Well, we went to the cavern in Liverpool where the Beatles made their reputation.
Paul Kent 2:11
That's where they started out. That's where they sort of honed their act. And Spud's sitting there at the cavern, and he every was it every hour they had a new act for? Every hour, like live music, a new guitar. I was going out. Spot sticks his hand up. Mike, do you mind if I come up and sing a song? Now this bug's uh he's probably done a thousand days at the cabin. He's I mate uh anything to relieve the boredom for him. Uh yeah, Spud, come up. Spud gets up. Can't get him off the stage. Blake's he's our finally up he has to go. Next bloke, mate, can I come up and sing a song? Became the Spud show after a while. Uh people started to walk out then. Uh this bloke's not gonna quit. And then um So anyway, he got his confidence up after that.
Paul Kent 2:54
So when when we landed in Dublin. Mike, can I come up and sing a song? No. He's like, What? But it's just one song, one song. No. So sit down, we're about we're about an inch into our point. This place shit house. Let's go somewhere else. So off we go. Next pub. Walk in, bike playing the guitar. Some were better than others, mind you. Mate, can I sing a song? Oh. Like they they w they were affronted that they were being asked in Dublin. In in in Liverpool they were glad to share the load. Dublin, not one not one bite. So we went from We had one point. I think it was in about eight pubs. Because every time we get a we'd get a couple of sips into our into our point, he'd ask, he'd get rejected. And from that moment on, that pub was shit house we weren't staying and we're moving on to the next one.
Paul Kent 3:51
And in the end I said, Brother, I have got to go home. I cannot
Francis Foster 3:55
keep
Paul Kent 3:56
I don't know how many more pubs there are left in Dublin, but I'm I'm guessing it's quite a few. And I can't keep having one point in every one of them. Very good. Uh but anyway, so he missed he missed the boat tomorrow, poor old Spud. Uh but Junior will be up there playing uh guitar, as you know, he's a he's a rock icon these days, Junior.
