It's feeling good.
I'm gonna be sixty this year, I'm absolutely fully embracing the whole idea of later life.
Uh and it's a tribute, actually for me, to helping to age gracefully or maybe age disgracefully.
And for me it's also that reminder of that positive contribution that older people can make.
I'd already fallen in love with mental health as a cause.
The mind job was just the job to do in the sector.
And mine has got this fantastic heritage of being a campaigning organization that stood up against all kinds of injustices over many decades and it was absolutely the a dream job for me.
But it was time to get going because the issue to tackle was
Stigma because everything went back to the stigma around mental health.
This dark cloud that hung over the narrative, the conversations that we're having publicly, but much more importantly than that, the dark cloud that hung over individuals' lives on a day to day basis, trying to get a house, trying to get a job, trying to have a relationship.
Mm-hmm.
The stigma was blocking.
people from having a normal life.
So we were tracking public opinion and we could see that there was improvement happening.
And in twenty thirteen at Halloween
Asda put on their online store a costume for Halloween called Mental Patient.
It was blood splattered and you could buy for an additional two pounds ninety nine a plastic cleaver.
