Our campaigners spotted it.
And this was in the early days of social media and celebrities like Alistair Campbell and others and Stephen Fry who was supporting us at the time came into the campaign.
Two hours later, the product was withdrawn.
And at that moment, we thought, We're on to something here.
The tide was changing.
That costume in previous years nobody would have battered nylid about.
Now it wasn't acceptable.
So for lots of us as charities, we have to make sure that we retain our independence.
Our independence is hugely important to the way in which the people who support us see us and we have to really hold that very strongly.
But we also want to deliver change.
And so when you deliver change, you engage with any government, whatever political party is running it.
And in this case, we were engaging with a then Conservative government on changes to welfare benefits.
And I was invited to join a group to review the work capability assessment, which is basically the way in which people's applications for benefits are dis decided with a particular focus.
focus on mental health.
And it's sometimes the case that some departments in some governments at some time set up working groups in order to validate an answer.
An answer which has probably already been predetermined and that's what it felt like.
It really wasn't an easy choice.
I think my my instincts are usually to try to collaborate and create change from the inside.
But in this case it just became really apparent that wasn't possible.
And I think ultimately probably better changes were made in the long term, but it took a long time.
