Yeah, it became quite apparent, didn't it, that he was keen to move on and once that decision was taken, it was all about trying to get a fee for him from a Tottenham perspective.
So in that sense, they've been successful.
They've managed to get just under £17 million for him and that's not
that's not a disaster when you think that he could have gone on a free at the end of the season or he could have signed a pre-contract agreement for the summer.
So I think all parties, once the decision was made by the player, were keen to get something over the line in the January window and have been able to do that.
Christian Eriksen's got his wish and he's able to go to Inter Milan and join up with Antonio Conte and what he's trying to build there to sort of end Juventus' domination of Serie A. And for Tottenham, they've got the money that they can sort of reinvest in
well just elsewhere they can reinvest in the squad so it'll be a loss in the sense that Ericsson's still only 27 years of age he's obviously a creative player who makes things happen but you know you speak to any Spurs fan they'll say maybe and you never know whether this is you know football fans just once they realise a player wants to leave their club it's easier to be critical towards them but if you speak to Spurs fans they'll maybe say he was towards the end very inconsistent and
maybe didn't deliver enough and certainly not to the point of what they were expecting and what he's capable of but there's no doubt if you look back at his time at Tottenham he is somebody who is extremely creative and would be a loss to any club.
I think the key thing from
from a Mourinho point of view is that
it's trying to get Tottenham over the line when it comes to winning a trophy.
It's something that's been talked about so often, and we all enjoyed watching Tottenham under Maurizio Pochettino, and it's fine margins in football.
On another night, what would have happened if that penalty wasn't given early on in the Champions League final?
On another night, Tottenham could have won that, and nobody would be talking about trophies and all that sort of thing, because Spurs would have done it.

that he's going to bring that sort of steely mentality, but he's also, to a certain extent, trying to reinvent himself as well.
