You can set your price knowing, or let's say the industry average is $85 per man hour.
And some of y'all might message me and it's like, we're charging a hundred, a hundred dollars per man hour.
What do you mean?
$85 per man hour.
Well, good for you, but you don't want to be charging too low.
I would say the average man hour rate for lawn mowing in legitimate businesses.
I'm not talking about staying in the van and chucking the truck is it's probably about $80 per man hour.
If a property takes you one man hour, you want to be charging about $80 for that property or more.
And if you're listening to this or watching this in a different year, prices have probably gone up because of inflation.
Go figure.
Now, most companies that offer lawn mowing, they just do it to get a foot in the door.

If you do it right, you're going to be profitable and you're going to have a margin of profit on the lawn mowing, but it ain't going to be too significant.
So what a lot of companies do is they mow the grass, cut the grass to get the foot in the door so that they're kind of the leading candidate for
or enhancement work, upselling the customer mulch installations, upselling the customer poor aerations, upselling the customer seasonal flower,
being the guy who fixes the irrigation, maybe perhaps upselling the fertilization and weed control.
And the list goes on and on and on and on of all the various enhancements.
