But I really shared in chapter one that I started my lawn care business out of desperation. matched

intentionality or strategy to how i built my business it was how in the world can i scrape together 928 dollars and i would go there's a bank in atlanta at the time called wells fargo matched

and it was actually called wachovia for those of you who actually remember way back in the day but anyway the people that i owed the 928 dollars to i would take it there and deposit it into their account and so my lawn care business strategy was what can i do to make 928 dollars to go pay them the rent like that's what i was thinking about so i matched

Wrote in chapter one of the new edition, second edition of Cut That Grass, Make That Cash, that story and explained how I started my lawn care business. matched

But one gigantic mistake that I made early on was my very first customer was a real estate agent and she had listings that were spread out throughout Atlanta. matched

and there that might be good for selling houses you know if you're selling a house that's worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or beyond it might be worth it for windshield time to drive and show the customers you know the different houses and and whatnot but from a lawn care perspective that was a bad idea to do one property and then go all the way across town matched

To go do another property. matched

So I started kind of rationalizing, well, while I'm over here, I'll get more work. matched

And that's exactly what I did. matched

So I started in the neighborhood in Lawrenceville where I lived and where I got my first yard. matched

And I started getting a whole bunch more yards there. matched

which the mistake there was it was the poor end of town. matched

It was the... It wasn't... I didn't know what my ideal customer was, but that was not my ideal customer. matched

I quickly... matched

discovered for multiple reasons. matched

So then I would go over to Winder, Georgia, and I'd take care of a listing there for a real estate agent. matched

And then naturally the neighbor across the street was like, Hey, can you, can you, you know, can you give us a quote to do our yard? matched

And it's like, sure. matched

And then, you know, and it just, now I got, now I got some properties in there. matched
