And then I was a youth pastor for matched

And so thankfully, they were out in Johns Creek where it's big money out there, Johns Creek area in Duluth, Georgia, Johns Creek, Georgia. matched

And so I picked up a couple properties in two different neighborhoods, one in Johns Creek and then one right over in Duluth. matched

And then I just started infiltrating with my marketing those neighborhoods. matched

And the list can go on and on. matched

And it did go on and on. matched

And so I started having yards all around town. matched

Now, for those of you who actually understand the references I'm giving to Metro Atlanta, you actually know where Lawrenceville is and Winder is and Duluth is and Johns Creek is. matched

And then I ended up going to Suwannee and all these other surrounding areas in Atlanta. matched

You know... matched

That's like an hour drive from Lawrenceville to Johns Creek. matched

And it was crazy how much I drove. matched

So I did not... matched

get off to a good start in my business because I started getting these customers. matched

And I'm going to talk about it in a later chapter in my book as I'm working on the second edition of Cut That Grass and Make That Cash about pricing and what to charge and all of that. matched

So one gigantic, catastrophic, humongous mistake I made early on was I was undercharging these customers. matched

And then the second problem was I was getting the wrong customer. matched

They were all around town, and I had no route density. matched

So what I want to do today, now that I give you a little context of what I did wrong, of my lack of marketing efforts, is what's the right way to market a lawn care business with today's day and age? matched
