There's no evidence, but they're pretending it's evidence.

The accusation to them is enough evidence that he should be stood down, that he shouldn't be allowed to referee certain games.

The fact is there's no evidence supporting the claims that he's ever been on rugby league, but it is a bad look for the game.

Yeah.

And in 2019, Nick Weeks was the head of the integrity unit, which, you know, as everybody who watches this knows, I have a huge problem with the integrity unit.

It's a propaganda unit as far as I'm concerned.

And Todd Greenberg was the boss of the NRL.

There's been a lot more from the NRL, a lot more focus put on that period than in 2023 when the people running the NRL were Andrew Abdo and Peter Vlandys.

But what has also become...

known over the weekend is that his gambling actually got worse after 2019 until the NRL needed to step in in 2023, at which point Klein said he voluntarily put himself on that BetStop app and banned himself from gambling.

So there's a lot here that's very cloudy.

This is my issue.

My issue is

The integrity of the game deserves transparency.

Now, I know this is Ashley Klein's business, okay, and people can argue that, but the fact also is when you choose to make your living in what is essentially a public space,

such as Rugby League, you're just open for that.

You're just open for that inspection from the wider audience.

It's not like an accountant working in some little anonymous office who has been misappropriating funds and it's nobody else's business.

The other part to it is this innocent until proven guilty.

Now, he's entitled to that, absolutely entitled to that.
