I don't think Nyland was playing.

He had an injury.

But even at that, there wasn't really a real threat there to that under-20 team.

So there's so many parts that I think is very fresh at the moment.

I think people expected Kilkenny to win over the weekend and...

for okay well maybe things aren't where we think they are but now that we've lost them we're out of Leinster and now there's a big gap to our club championship I think people are really now sitting back going okay well what does this actually mean I think the jury's out at the moment in terms of what it means that's not that's not pawn it off or anything but when when you look at it and you're kind of thinking is this bigger than what we thought it was

well, then you can't just decide overnight exactly what the issue is.

You really have to look at the whole system and go, are we producing players and it's just not clicking at inter-county level?

Is it a case that this group of players this year had a poor year and it didn't work out and we are taking two or three lads from each panel?

I don't know.

I really don't know.

So I would say at the moment, again, it's not to try and give a wishy-washy answer, but the jury is out.

I've seen lots of stuff, lots of commentators talk since the weekend or even since yesterday.

Nobody really has a definitive answer as to why

why it's a case Kilkenny aren't getting out of Leinster and why we aren't competing at that level so I think the conversations will go on for a good few weeks now in Kilkenny and I think a lot will happen over the next couple of weeks because we have the time now to I suppose decide what's the plan for next year what are we going to do there'll be retirements I'd say there'll be retirements there's quite a few players I look at it as a case when lads are over 31

you're always asking yourself, well, am I going to go another year?

And, you know, I think for some lads, it'll be a case of, okay, maybe this is the time I exit stage left and maybe it's really investing in the youth.

So there's, I think there's a number of questions at a number of levels that will be answered over the next couple of months.

But I mean, I certainly, I won't come on and say that I have the answers and this is the one silver bullet that's going to sort it, you know?

So it's, but look, it's definitely going to be tough times over the next year, the next maybe couple of years to get this thing on because you don't change these things overnight either.
