I even saw Tommy mentioning, I suppose, going back again to the brand of Hurling that's being played.

The thing is, within Kilkenny Club, Hurling is obviously very strong and it's played to a really good standard across the board.

The Championship will kick off now in the next while.

But I suppose the question is that...

the brand hurling that's being played within the clubs um is that translating to inter-county level and that inter-county level you know we've said this several times that and even during my time we didn't move with the times when teams started to adapt and play a possession type game and whether people like that or not what people want to see traditional hurling you know in air quotes whatever that is uh that's not the effective game that's played anymore and and again i'll touch on what tommy says like you have to be able to play it both ways you know you have to be able to play possession move the ball

But then also compete.

Compete and win your own ball, take on your man.

You look at the weekend there and you see the likes of lads throwing balls into William Buckley, coming out and winning it and taking on his man.

And even getting forwards, can we see at the moment, are they able to do that?

Are lads even coming in off the bench?

So what's coming through, you're saying, do we have six forwards?

Do we have nine lads even, let's say, lads coming off the bench to actually go and do that?

Defensively as well, there's so many questions asked.

There's definitely a great bunch of players there.

But I think the wider picture, like again, when you look at the indicators of at underage level, you know, really struggling to get the wins there, even in Leinster.

Whereas before, I'm not saying there were foregone conclusions or anything before, but certainly, you know, you were taking home Leinster trophies in any given year at some grade and you were competing as well at senior level to a serious level.

So I think if you're honest with yourself, you have to look and say, well, there's big indicators there that...

It's not saying there's a complete regression or anything, but maybe we have to look at ourselves in terms of the style we're playing, what way are we approaching it, are our systems working, all those things.

You were mentioning there, will Derek stay on?

Again, that's up to Derek, it's up to his management, it's up to the county board.
