But if you talk to rockers who love Jesus Christ Superstar, they hate musicals.

But they love this album, right?

Because it was a rock album because, you know, Andrew Lloyd Webber wanted to be a rock star.

This is his answer to wanting to be a rock star.

So what I wanted to do, and I love good musicals.

I think there's a place for them.

I feel like what I do is a musical, a punk musical every single time.

There are musicals I really, really cannot stand and that I am really upset in how vapid they are.

But I like to take that all in and switch it around as I do.

So with Jesus Christ Superstar, I wanted to do it as not as ostentatious.

You know, like I wanted to bring it to that singular, you're in your bedroom singing it.

So I wanted the rockers to understand how they could enjoy a musical.

I've been performing it at like, you know, arts festivals or wherever.

I can do it probably for the last 13 years.
