Can I walk you through Teller's plan leading up to the end of chapter 78?

Honestly, his plan was pretty much exactly the way that it played out.

So you have to keep in mind that Teller knew pretty much everything.

Diem told him almost everything, including that she thought she might have to die, including that she was going to have to use the sword to kill Ophiuchai.

So he knew that

What DM needed to do is to get across the other side of the field, get to Ophiuchai, and use the sword on him.

didn't know is how Diem was going to do that because she has no magic.

There's a battlefield full of people and it just seemed like it was going to be difficult, if not impossible, for her to actually make it to Ophiuchai, especially after what happened in Sophos, thinking Ophiuchai might kill her on sight.

So Teller said, I can make this happen.

I can take the sleeping draft.

I can take my knives that have the flame root mixture on them.

I can take Diem's sword.
