use his flame root tipped weapons to stab him while he's knocked out, take away his magic, and then leave him unconscious and without magic so that Diem can do what she needs to do.

And even though it didn't quite play out the way that Teller maybe thought it would play out, I think he always knew that it was going to end in his death.

but he felt okay with that because it was a choice that he made to save everyone and to give Diem the path that she needed to bring this to an end.

So heartbreaking, but he will forever go down as the hero who helped Diem save Amorian.

When did I know that Teller wasn't going to make it out of the series alive?

So pretty much from the beginning, I had my little death column of who I was planning to kill and it wasn't definite until the end, but he was always there and he was probably the one I was most certain about the whole series.

There were certainly times I second guessed it because that felt awful.

I mean, I love him and I'm really sad to see him go.

But I also, for every single character, I thought about what is the happiest possible outcome for them, or at least the outcome where they're the most at peace.

And that felt like the right outcome for him.

It felt so much more heartbreaking to let him keep living and have to watch his

Lily stay young and beautiful and kind of in her prime while he grows old and turns into this, you know, elderly person and have to either feel like a burden on her or that he has to leave her to sacrifice himself so that she can move on with someone else.

Or, you know, I just think that that would be a really sad, unhappy life for him.

And it felt too convenient and too easy to come up with some solution that would turn him into a descendant or make him immortal or something.

So yeah,

I felt like his and Lily's love, it was true love.
