We can't do everything alone all the time and get it right.

We do need other people.

So I like that distinction, actually, which I'd never thought about until the UQ'ed it for this conversation.

But actually, we really want them to ask for help.

We just don't want them to rely on us for everything, do you think?

I just want to say one thing about that though that sparked when you were talking, which is that independence, we also want that to be healthy.

We want them to be mentally stable, emotionally stable, happy, and whatever that looks like for them.

So somebody could be independent, but really struggling and unhappy.

And that's not what we want either.

We want

That life where they're sort of taking care of themselves, whatever that looks like, to also feel good for them.

And I think maybe that's a consideration we don't think about all the time.

We think about the money and the job and the things that it takes to take care of yourself.

physically, but we also have to think about that mental and emotional health piece and and what we want that to look like for them too.

And is that possible while also doing all the things for themselves?

Yeah, f the first thing really was healing from the school experience.

My kid had just the most awful school experience.

No matter how much I knew, how much I advocated, it was very hard for me to get other people on board with the idea that you could be.

really wicked smart and also really struggle in school.

And so he was constantly getting these messages that he wasn't trying hard enough.
