I think he's played up a little bit and I think

You've got to be mindful.

And I don't want to read too much into what happened last night.

I don't know enough about it.

So I'm not going to start making fucking, you know, comments around what he was doing there.

Because I don't know yet.

Nothing's come out that I've seen.

But I just think there's certain things where... No, I've watched him knock off in games.

weeks before and give it a big one and then he's not followed that up or backed it up and stuff and listen footballers can do that but I just think sometimes with him there's a lot of bravado and I don't always necessarily think it's backed up in performances but I like Pete I think he's a good footballer and listen he can add stuff to the squad there's no doubt about it if he was happy to kick around Rob and earn good money

and come in and just you know you can put him in every now and again you take him out you put him in he'll do you a job because he's a lovely footballer but I don't necessarily think he's the he's the level that he thinks he is and that maybe creates a bit of a problem when you're thinking about new contracts and what you're going to pay these guys this is a classic case this one of one that will happen I think on the last day of the window or in the last two or three days of the window because Liverpool don't need to sell

Despite what I said before, I think if he tried to take the piss, he'd obviously have a decision to make around whether to keep him or not.

I think ideally, if you're looking at midfielders who are going to go, you'd probably say, well, you try and keep Jones because he has got quality when you can get him in the team and there's certain games where it suits him a little bit more and maybe you let Nendo go and you'd upgrade there.

That would probably be the ideal thing.

But I think the contracting just makes it a little bit...

trickier because we know he wants more money and that's where Liverpool have got a decision to make.

I think he's a good footballer, Wharton.

Whenever I catch him, I always think, yeah, talented boy, passes it forwards nearly all of the time.

Quickly?

Yeah, he gets people on the front foot, which I like about him.
