I think there's a lot I like about Adam Wharton's game.

I just don't know...

whether he fits into this current version of liverpool midfield i just think he's not necessarily the greatest going back the other way either and i think we've already got a few of those lads who don't particularly fancy that they'll run back towards their own goal whether they don't fancy it or whether they're just not in tune to what you need to do in those situations and i'm not quite sure i think there's a lot made of the postman fear last season it's quite hard to understand whether how much falls on

those players or how much of it falls on the head coach you know could they have been a bit more secure at times if you'd had things a little bit tighter in the middle of the path potentially but there are plenty of moments you know I picked on Jones before where people are just fucking ambling back and looking like they're not fucking arsed and that always really kind of burns my head out and it's not just Curtis by the way there was a few times you'd accuse one or two others of similar things where

defending just doesn't look that important to them.

It just doesn't seem like top of their fucking priority list.

And I favoured Wharton, again, not questioning the lad's attitude, but I just don't know whether he's got the gifts to maybe to be in those situations where defensively he makes you look a little bit more secure.

I think in certain teams, he'd be fucking great, by the way.

If you had someone like Caicedo doing his running for him, for instance, as an example, then you'd think, well, yeah, that covers a lot of bases.

You've got a lovely footballer kind of, you know, on one hand, and then you've got this aggressive, you know, little demon next to him who can do a bit of playing as well, by the way, but actually covers the ground really well, puts a foot in.

That feels like a nice combo.

I'm not sure Liverpool have got the right make-up around them as it stands where you could facilitate a walk.
