Came to Australia as a backpacker originally to play cricket.

I actually became an Australian resident and then citizen through the points test, the skills test as it was back then as a chartered accountant.

Big interest in investing, stocks and property.

I wrote my first book on personal finance around 2011.

So I've been relatively well known in the space, mainly for property these days.

So I guess like a lot of property investors, you tend to end up a bit top heavy in that asset class because of the leverage, right?

So yeah, that's what I do.

I've run a buyer's agency for about 11 years or so in Australia and England, in London.

And yeah, these days we have a national buyer's agency platform called Buyer's Buyers and we buy in every state and every territory.

Yeah, I think a lot of buyers agencies tend to just buy in their own patch.

And the concept behind the business, and we set it up a couple of years ago, is to have a central office where you get independent advice, whether you should buy in Adelaide or if you're an investor, should you go interstate or should you buy your home first or...

So we spend a lot of time with people working on this strategy first before then sort of recommending whether or not they invest in property.

I think sometimes people get it a bit, I was going to say arse about teeth.

I'm trying to think of a better phrase.

That works.

I think sometimes people, they start with just, well, I can afford to buy property, so I should buy something because that's what everyone else is doing.

But we tend to try and think more strategically.

Because these days, everyone has a limit to how much borrowing capacity they can take on.

Therefore, if you've got a limited amount of borrowing capacity, you want to make the maximum or the best use of it.

Yeah, so in Melbourne, they're often called buyer's advocates, confusingly.
