Exactly.

These the the hedonism of the counterculture.

the hippies, for example.

But I think that that's not what they were.

That's not what they understood themselves to be doing.

They were, again, a kind of development from garden thinking.

They were trying to bring about the future in an organic way.

And they were essentially refusing all efforts to lay claim on or exert power on the future and allow they were they had a kind of maximally generative, maximally fruitful understanding of the future that was based around the idea of a kind.

Of becoming or you know, almost a Buddhist sense in sometimes very literally Buddhist or Buddhist-influenced sense of relinquishing control in order to allow the future maximal possibility.

So this will sound very familiar to anybody who's ever thought about the hippies or the counterculture.

But if you think about even the terminology that they're using, like the BN of human BN, which was one of the first

parties held in San Jesco in nineteen sixty seven, I think it was, or even the slang that they use, like, you know, get real or being hip.

These ideas of just simply being present in the moment and not allowing

either worry or capital investment.

So either pessimism or optimism about the future into your psychology or into your social matrix.

And simply to inhabit the present moment as fully as possible.

And that was the way to ensure that the future would have the kind of continue to have the kind of degenerative quality that the present has sort of a rejection of futurology in a sense.

Well, yes, except that he aesthetically and rhetorically and conceptually does have a lot of futurological elements to it.

You know, the the hippies loved science fiction, they loved Buckminster Fuller.
