The way that I think of the whole book and the whole history of twentieth century futuroogy is that you're going from generally speaking a state of uncertainty to a state of increasing set an increasing sense of certainty and predictability through these techniques of futuroology to another state of uncertainty, but for the opposite reason.
So you're going from a low information society to a high information society under control
The futurologist to some extent to uh
society that is so shocked through with information of all kinds that the problem is you don't know which information is valid or relevant.
And also it start pieces of data, but also forces of various kinds, economic and political especially, start to influence one another in ways that are as unpredictable as the weather used to be all before we had these observation techniques, right?
So this is where we get the the term poly crisis that is sort of in the air these days.
