So, yeah, think of me as second willing.

Because I visited LA before, of course, on the road with Gordon.

And I remember distinctly, I mean, there was a point where a year earlier, I'd been bicycling home from university on a winter's afternoon, bicycling in the rain, you know?

And almost exactly a year later, I was driving down Sunset Boulevard in a rented Mustang convertible being recognized by beautiful women.

I kind of went, this is a little bit better.

It was partly produced by John Boylan, partly by John David Souther.

Both of them were boyfriends at the time and it was complicated.

Sounds messy.

And it couldn't get finished somehow.

So I helped her finish it.

Yeah.

And in the course of all that, I think it was John that suggested that maybe I would be interested in managing her as well.

Yeah.

Because John Boylan, it didn't make sense.

And John played a key role in that.

And so initially when Linda approached me about management, first of all, I asked James because at that point I was a one-client manager.

Yeah.

So this represented a potential change.

But he was okay with that after thinking about it.
