He was the one who did it like Elvis, which is always part of the part because Gordon did a very good Elvis impersonation.
And it wasn't really, it was 37 years or some ridiculous amount of time until we got back together.
But as I say, we never actually said, we're never doing this again.
But I admit, as the decades went by, I kind of naturally assumed, well, we're never doing that again.
But we did.
It was actually Paul Schaefer and his wife who caused that to happen.
They were doing a benefit, wanted to do a benefit for Paul Schaefer's friend and our friend too, Mike, what's his name?
Jesus.
The keyboard player in the Dave Clark Five, Mike Smith.
Mike who was a terrific keyboard player and had a terrible accident, fell off his roof and
needed help and Paul Schaefer wanted to put the benefit together and Paul's wife, Kathy said, you know, it would be great if you could get Peter and Gordon back together and do a sixties themed benefit.
So he called me up and after a 37 year gap, it was evident to me that if we were ever going to do it, this would be the time because Paul Schaefer could be relied upon to put a great band together.
So we said, yes.
So the ending, no, the ending was very undramatic.
Yeah.
We just started doing other things.
Gordon wanted to be a solo act anyway.
