Firstly, that's not happening as much.
And secondly, a lot of those kind of basic skills that the graduate was doing are doing, you know, it's not really happening as much.
But the 28 to 32 year old has this extra level of skills of kind of relationship skills and people skills that the graduate probably hasn't had.
Partly not their fault, but because they've lived in this era of technology and probably looking at their screen more.
So employers are definitely seeing that this kind of older candidate has become a little bit more attractive to them.
yeah because if you think about it a graduate in the first five years your life most of your experience came from the person beside you telling what you were doing right and wrong and 30 times a day they'd come over to you and kind of give you a little tip and tell you to do this or that most people when they work from home are getting no calls from their boss they might get a few teams or zoom calls but actually what's happening then is the skills that they should be learning the first few years are taking a lot longer so employers are suddenly realizing the skills that we wanted
are kind of taking too long.
So we should probably take somebody who's already had those skills.
And often the older employers aren't coming into the workforce, but because they don't come in, even when the graduate doesn't come in, they're not getting that kind of relationship skills that they should be getting from the other workers in the workforce.
Yeah, so the technology companies are first out of the gate because obviously a lot of what they do, they kind of understand this better than everybody else.
And in the short term, they're talking about AI agents or literally an AI does the job of a human.
The two downsides of it is firstly, who are going to be the next generation of workers and middle managers, as you said.
But the second thing is all organizations need to be very active in AI.
They need to actually be involved in working out how it's going to help their organization.
Guess what?
The people who know this the best are the people coming into your workforce.
They use it every day.
It's part of their daily life.
And you need to actually have these people who can kind of trial and pilot things.
So if you don't have these people in there in the long term, it's actually going to have an effect for you.
