We've created that equivalency ratio in our heads, which makes it easy for me to then do business with anybody without knowing anything else about them, right?

And I think it's one of the reasons why the Faster Payments Council has spent so much time in looking at things like directory work group because

Directories help to solve some of that problem.

Um, I think the issue that we have in the industry is that there's so many different directories now owned by so many different people, and none of them want to interoperate.

None of them want to cooperate to be able to get rid of this issue that we have.

Um, if we did have a single directory to solve them all.

You might be able to get rid of this problem.

Or there's other ways that we can think about it too.

And I kind of posed this in in my blog post, which is like, hey, we could create tokens that we can hand out to people.

Uh the clearinghouse did this with EPN and UPIC decades ago.

in terms of providing somebody a credential that you could just send me a credit push.

You couldn't do anything else with that credential.

It was like a virtual account that only could accept the credit push.

And like those are powerful things that we haven't armed our customers with fully.

And especially in the business world, I think if we could create credentials that only allow for money to move one way.

we'd feel much more comfortable giving that information out, um, or, you know, potentially have a directory that we can search for.

But instead, I've got to opt into somebody else's directory.

So like if uh the US Faster Payments Council and I wanna pay them, you either give me your account information, I either

give you my credit card information to process or I give you my account information to draw money down.

Um, there isn't an easy way for me to just do an instant credit push payment to you to make sure that that's been done and fully reconciled.
